Our Mission: Gunner Sportz drives equitable access in high school sports, education and physical activity, by supporting student-athletes in high need communities to achieve a college education and reach their greatest potential on the field and in life.
We believe that education is the key to opportunity and therefore it is the core of what drives our mission. Our #1 priority is to empower and strengthen dedicated student-athletes by creating opportunities for them to continue their education and thrive at a higher level. To ensure that we offer a recipe for success, we partner with organizations that specialize in high school football recruiting, athletic training, academic counseling, social media education and much, much more. Our team is composed of many subject matter experts who are high school coaches, college coaches, former college athletes, recruiting coordinators and former NFL athletes, ALL on-board to coach, train and mentor each of our student-athletes, one play at a time.
The Bay Area Cali Classic High School Senior Bowl is our annual signature event, where Northern California's TOP student-athletes gather in one showcase to celebrate the game they love! The game is held each year in the Northern California Bay Area during the winter months at the conclusion of the CIF state level championship games and is LIVE-STREAMED for the convenience of college coaches, their staff and family members who are unable to attend in person. The game began in 2014 and was created to help showcase the “under the radar / under-recruited" student-athletes with an original model established for Division ll, lll, NAIA and JC level talent. However, it has grown in athletic competition and spectator size, now with interest from top FBS and FCS institutions across the nation. The goal is to showcase seniors from Northern California who are both athletically AND academically qualified to play football at the college level. GUNNER SPORTZ, Inc specializes in high school football recruiting and have made the success of student-athlete recruits their priority by focusing on athletic training, academic counseling, social media education and much, much more. We believe that Northern California is an "under recruited" market, leaving many student athletes without access to athletic scholarships. Our organization provides local athletes with the exposure that they deserve and helps them to realize their dream of playing football at the college level.
To qualify for the High School Senior Bowl, each student-athlete must be nominated by a coach, assistant coach, or athletic trainer to participate. After the nomination has been received, our selection committee reviews the student-athletes’s academic transcript (per NCAA / NAIA standards, confirms SAT/ACT test scoring (when required) and does a social media inquiry to validate their personal character.
In 2022, the Gunner Sportz Academy was launched to offer football training & skill development to middle school / high school athletes during the off season months (spring & summer). During the academy sessions, athletes have an opportunity to learn position specific drills in a fun environment, all while making new friends. There is also a GSA Symposium which offers guidance on the NCAA process, the Eligibility Center, how to be recruited by colleges, social media accountability, academic expectations, financial literacy and more. The goal is to prepare the athletes for life "after" football.
